The Coolest Sports Photography Event of the Year, SPORTS SHOOTER ACADEMY VII will be held April 7 – 10, 2010 in Southern California featuring a line up of award-winning photographers on the faculty. The Academy is a hands-on, shooting workshop where participants cover real sports events under the guidance of the faculty and receive critiques of their work nightly.
As in past workshops, the schedule will feature NCAA Division I events through an agreement with the Big West Conference. Baseball, softball, track & field, water polo, tennis and volleyball will be on the shooting schedule along with sessions at the La Habra Boxing Club and with AVP beach volleyball players. Classes on shooting with remote cameras and location portrait lighting will also be on The Academy schedule.
Through funding from Nikon students accepted into Sports Shooter Academy VII will be able to attend TUITION-FREE. A limited number of spaces for non-students will be available so photographers wanting to improve their sports shooting, learn new techniques and receive critical evaluations of their work can also attend this workshop.
Nikon will also be providing loaner equipment for SSA participants to use at events, including their latest professional cameras and lenses from fisheyes to super-telephotos.
Application forms for Sports Shooter Academy VII will be available for download within the next week.
The workshop will be based in Orange County, CA, minutes from John Wayne – Orange County Airport and the University California Irvine.
